The International Poetry Week in the Chinese Panda province was spectacular: a symphonic orchestra, ballet, visit to the panda park and recital of poets with international fame from all over the world.<\/p>\n

Flying clouds over the Jade Mountains
\nAre like the changes of history<\/em>
\n\u2014Du Fu<\/p>\n

Flowers were blooming so gaily,
\nand all around was green
\npeaceful and dreamingly
\nlike the pandas in the trees.<\/p>\n

Poetry echoed in tongues
\none couldn\u2019t understand.
\nChinese poems were shouted,
\nannouncing\u00a0The Change<\/em>?<\/p>\n

The dance and the show were fascinating.
\nBut the poet remained thoughtful,
\nmeditating and questioning
\nthe future of Time.<\/p>\n

\n<\/em>At the Chengdu poetry festival, the Chinese poets did not read, but\u00a0<\/em>shouted\u00a0their poems; by \u201cChange\u201d the poet refers to the USA, losing its power as world leader, gradually being replaced by the Chinese, pushing to replace the US from power. These Modern Times are characterized by emptiness, by protests and demagoguery.
\nThe poet, Du Fu alike, who lived in times of turmoil, is worried about the future of Humani<\/em><\/p>\n
