Song of the Horseman

Córdoba.

Distant and lonely.

A black horse, a big moon

and olives in my saddlebag.

Although I know the roads

I shall never reach Córdoba.

Across the plain, through the wind,

black horse, red moon.

Death is watching me

from the towers of Córdoba.

Oh, what a long road!

Oh, my brave horse!

Oh, death is waiting for me,

before I reach Córdoba!

Córdoba.
Distant and lonely.
