I will write for you

TO MARIA MIRAGLIA

I will write for you a poem of love
when in the evening grey
an exhausted bird
vainly seeks
a place to sleep

I will write for you a poem of love
when the lantern of the moon
offers to the night
a glimpse of light
I will write for you a poem of love
when the sun paints with its red
the hope of dawn
I will write for you a poem of love
when a gentle breeze caresses
the wrinkled face
of the heart

I will write for you a poem of love
when so high in the sky
two clouds embrace
in a kiss of love.
