The poppies have bloomed
The poppies have bloomed.
They brighten the lips of spring with
their mad red.
They kiss the zephyr
to unravel the petals one-by-one
erupting in blossoms from the earth’s bosom.
They drip the blood of their souls from the veins
to bring more love for tomorrow.
