The Cultural Foundation ITHACA

AN INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL BRIDGE

Founded in 2008 as the Spanish sister organisation of the Belgian publishing house POINT Editions, established in 1984, the Cultural Foundation Ithaca quickly gained an international reputation as an organiser of multilingual poetry recitals, superb concerts and art exhibitions featuring outstanding artists, receiving proposals for collaboration from both national and international artists. The foundation works with several cultural centres and universities and organized already 16 years, The Poetic Evening Concerts of Ithaca, held annually at the foundation’s headquarters in Altea (Alicante, Spain).

The aim of the ITHACA Foundation is to act as a cultural bridge between Spanish artists, poets and musicians and those from other countries, and vice versa. The foundation has already organised numerous cultural activities in Spain: concerts, poetry readings and exhibitions of paintings and sculptures by renowned Spanish and international artists; however, its most significant project is Poetry without Borders, publishing two times per month in over 40 languages an excellent modern poem from all over the world accompanied by an illustration.
