664 | Happy new year | Crossing | Droogenbroodt

Ithaca 664 poet Crossing

Painting by Ho Huai-shuo, Taiwan

Crossing

Winter carries out its cold,
lashes with hail and northerly wind

the bare branches
of a frosty December.

Pale and bleached,
hangs the moon on the dome of the night
a mirror of time, tired eye,
between the neglected silverware
of the stars:

Change for the crossing
from year to year.
